Planning Phases
Basic Engineering brought to the point - a case study
When the Chemgineering Technology Designers needed to produce a tender package with a cost accuracy of +/- 5% the answer was an extended basic engineering package.
The task meant to plan a complex process including all its auxiliary process infrastructure to be built into an existing building. The following systems were planned:
- process
- piping and pipe routes
- process media (clean and carbon steel)
- pharmaceutical building finish
- construction site facilities
- Logistics (material, personnel)
- Electrical
- Automation
- HVAC
After the proof of concept based on the client's feasibility study the basic engineering included detailed inquiries of equipment vendors and key contractors to reach the required cost accuracy.
