Scope of works for logistics management

1. Analysing

- Establish logistics strategy for each work package
- Establish List all plant items and equipment to be delivered.
- Establish with all contractors and suppliers their delivery plans and what logistics support they are providing and or need.
- Establish logistics plan coordinated with public access works.
- Specify on site logistics plan to obtain bids from contractors who can provide logistics service.
- Develop and manage Construction  Site access and routes for vehicles, materials. and personnel, to ensure smooth flow of materials and resources.

2. Organising

- Ensure coordination between delivery schedule and site planning with construction managers.
- Prepare a weekly logistics report on all deliveries and waste management status.
- Ensure logistics plan is communicated to contractors and suppliers bidding for work packages.
- Weekly coordination with warehouse management.

- Supervise specialist contractor for waste management and site cleanliness contractors.
-Manage on and off site truck parking.
-establish and maintain site signage on and off site to ensure safe and efficient movement.

- Update the Construction Site Plan – phased as the Project progresses – and allocate space & manage it so that the following functions are accommodated and optimised :with lay down areas, storage areas, fabrication zones, CM & subcontractor cabins & facilities, security, cranage, lifting & transportation equipment; waste segregation & storage..

- Organize the timing nature and positioning of cranage, other heavy equipment and vehicles, and scaffolding, with specialists contractors to ensure schedule optimisation and efficient resource utilisation.

- Maintain a secure storage policy on delivered materials, with up to date recording of goods entries, issues to subcontractors/jobsite, net balances, by part / code number, and description.

- Manage with the specialist waste management contractor the segregation, storage, transfer offsite, and routing of Construction Site waste materials, to be carried out by an appointed subcontractor(s). This will include verification of documentation and compliance with national & local regulations.

- Manage site signage to operate and ensure respect of all the above arrangements, in particular those related to traffic, safe working practices, and material hazards.

- Manage and organize goods returns in response to Procurement requests.

- Manage and coordinate flow, storage, and the placement and erection of equipment in the buildings in order to best respect the Project Master Schedule and Detailed Construction Schedules.

3. Reporting

- Install and manage the receipt, identification, preliminary inspection, offloading, and secure storage of incoming equipment and materials for the Project.
- Maintain with procurement copies of Purchase Orders and material listings, and advise Procurement of damage, discrepancies overs & shorts.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on materials and equipment delivered against planned schedule for project management.
